May Day 2026

Happy May Day to all who may celebrate it for whatever reason. Labor, Flowers, Witches and such, Communists, Maypoles, and May Queens. I celebrate life. I celebrate my friends and family. I celebrate giving and receiving. I celebrate art and music for which I am so grateful in these days of political Schmutz.

May 3 is a celebration of the SF Food Bank. I am participating in “Empty Bowls”. Persons buy a ticket, pick a bowl, fill the bowl with provided soup and keep the bowl. Proceeds to SF Food Bank. Great org. Great idea. Sounds like fun. SF Randall Museum 1-3pm.

May 16, my garden and I will be in the Noe Valley Garden tour. I am grateful to be able to participate. Several years ago, I was going to be in the tour, but oops, a tree hit me. Cancel that until now. Come and see what we have created. It is an oasis in the city. Views from every terrace and plants from my years of projects and the SF Arboretum as well as many garden stores in the area.
